ABP (Pension Trustees) Ltd

The ABP Group Pension Scheme is run by the Board of the ABP (Pension Trustees) Ltd.

The Board is made up of nine Trustee Directors; five are nominated by the employer, three by the active membership and one by the pensioners.

The Board is made up as follows:

Employer Nominated Directors:

Zafar Khan - Chairman of the Board
Zafar joined the Trustee Board on 15 March 2004 and became Chairman on 9 March 2007.  Zafar is currently Chief Financial Officer of ABPH Limited.

Andrew Garner
Andrew is the General Counsel for ABP.  He joined ABP on 1 November 2005 and became a Trustee Director on 1 March 2007.

Alastair MacFarlane
Alastair is the current Port Manager for East Anglia and has been with ABP for 16 years.  Alastair has been a Trustee Director since 26 April 2006.

Melanie Phillips
Melanie is the Personnel Manager for South Wales and is based in Cardiff.  Melanie joined ABP on 1 January 2005 and became a Trustee Director on 13 June 2006.

Mike Stacey
Mike is currently Deputy Port Manager at Hull.  Mike has worked for ABP for 17 years and became a Trustee Director on 18 September 2006.  Mike was previously a Trustee Director from December 1992 to May 1995.

Pensioner Nominated Director

Charles Orange
Charles was elected as a Pensioner Nominated Director in 2006.  He was ABP's Finance Director for 15 years until his retirement in 2000 and is a former Chairman of the Trustee.

Member Nominated Directors

Phil Cowing
Phil became a Trustee Director on 1 September 2003 and retained his seat in the 2006 elections.  Phil is currently the Harbour Master for the Humber.

Dave Good
Dave is a Project Engineer at Grimsby and worked for ABP for 28 years.  He became a Trustee Director on 1 September 2003.

Philip Holliday
Philip is currently Harbour Master at Southampton.  He has worked for ABP for eight years.  Philip became a Trustee Director on 9 October 2006.

Myners Compliance

On 2 October 2001 the government published its response to Paul Myners' Review of Institutional Investment endorsing the 10 investment principles proposed for DB Schemes and asking the schemes to comply with them on a voluntary basis.

To this end the Trustees commissioned a compliant review which showed the Fund as mainly compliant and working towards full compliancy.
