ABP Humber celebrates football tournament success

August 25, 2017

Around 200 ABP Humber employees, stakeholders and customers put their football skills to the test by taking part in a charity 8-a-side football match.

More than 10 companies in Grimsby and the surrounding areas including North East Lincolnshire Council, Drax, Drury Engineering and Profile Security helped to raise a fantastic £2,400 for St Andrew’s Hospice in Grimsby.

ABP’s organiser, Ashley Curnow, Humber Executive Business Officer, said: “It was a fantastic day seeing everyone coming together to support such a worthy cause and help local people with life-limiting illnesses.

“We hope to organise many more events like this to continue to give back to the community and build even stronger relationships with our customers and stakeholders.”

The ABP event was held at Bradley Football Development Centre in Grimsby, and first place was awarded to Humber International Terminal, with North East Lincolnshire Council as close runners-up.

Rob Walsh, Chief Executive of North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “We’re pleased to be supporting our local Hospice once again alongside ABP. A great sum was raised for a very strong and credible local cause.”
